Man

In between birth and death
Man takes his existence into immortality,
An illusioned world by himself
He is lost in reality.

Now facing one way, then the other
Not sure of which way to go,
Always trying to get his life in order
Merely to please his self-ego.

He is a cautious creator
And also a reckless destroyer,
Took a day to build Rome
But a second to destroy it.

A conservative and also a rebel
Too afraid to be different,
But bold when making a change
Like clear skies about to rain.

A stubborn yet reasonable being
Sometimes loving, sometimes resentful,
Caught in the confusion of living
He can be a wise man or a fool.

Man, he has many a choice
To be a criminal or a saint,
A deva or a ghost
A blessing or a curse; to himself or others.

A rubbish heap of evil
A storehouse of virtue,
Emotions leap ahead of his mind
He thinks and his emotions colour the world.

The passage of night and day
Cutting and shortening his life,
Soon he must find a way
From darkness to The Light.
